Can sensitive skin use freeze-dried powder? Yes - but product choice and usage need more care than for normal skin. The format itself is not hostile to sensitive skin; what matters is what is added.

Why the format is relatively friendly

The actives are freeze-dried into powder under low-temperature vacuum and reconstituted with solvent at use. Because the system is stable dry, preservatives can be minimal or absent - and preservatives are a common trigger of redness and stinging. Formulas also tend to be shorter and more controllable than ordinary serums.

Three rules for sensitive skin

  • Ingredient-list length: shorter is more controllable; avoid ethanol, fragrance, artificial colour, and high-strength acids (salicylic, AHA) or retinol.

  • Filing and licence: the pack filing number must be verifiable on the NMPA site and the production licence must match.

  • A device-grade line: brands with Class II device products usually hold higher manufacturing standards. VIRIBIO has two such dressings, positioned for repair.

Usage tips

  1. For a new ingredient, use every other day for the first week.
  2. Patch-test behind the ear or inner wrist for 24 hours first.
  3. Pause during an acute red/peeling phase; resume when stable.
  4. Do not layer with acids or retinol - separate morning and evening.

VIRIBIO's cosmetic-grade powders (e.g. Recombinant Type III Collagen set, Keratin powder) are daily-care, minimal formulas; post-procedure or compromised barriers may favour the Class II dressings within registered indications. Never inject.
